Howard Sterne versus the Hiddenburg...the WTC vers

About 5 - 7 years ago...KLSX Radio ran an ad campaign that featured the Hiddenburgh fully engulfed in flames as it fell to earth.....

....only this was an ad for Howard Sterne's Radio show on KLSX radio....I hated the ad, I thought it was the most crass and insensitve thing ever put out as a television commercial...and they showed it over and over and over...daily, nightly, I'd say it ran several hundred times.

My question is, does anyone expect to ever see such an ad involving the WTC...???

I say we never will see it.

But then, what is the difference between the Howard Sterne television ad depicting Rock Music over a shot of the fully engulfed in flames Hiddenburgh as being "acceptable or broadcastable", yet a different standard may apply to the WTC....

Why?

They're already using American flags & "patriotism" to sell auto's. It's only a matter of time before the WTC collapse footage is used to sell McDonald's Happy Meals.

Seriously, the govt. is coming out with war bonds again. I think it's likely that we'll see the WTC footage MANY times in the tv commercials that are bound to come out advertising these new war bonds.

I'm not sure I see the actual footage of the WTC collapsing being used in overt commercialization.

Just like I don't think a comedian will ever joke about the WTC either.

Sure do wonder why it was OK to use the Hiddenburgh footage in a KLSX television commercial to promote the radio station.

Alex; considering how shallow & lowbrow many commedians are today, believe it's only a matter of time before seeing a WTC-skit on SNL or MAD-TV.

As for War-Bonds; the actual footage would be used for sympathy purchases. Make people feel "unpatriotic" for not supporting the war effort, when "so many innocent citizens paid with their lives".

As for the Hindenberg footage, it happened a long time ago. Someone in 30 or 40 years is gonna use the WTC footage of people jumping out of the buildings from 80-stories to sell videocameras.
